At the top of the day, Toto was one of the greatest bands in the world, and at their industrial peak, but the members of the band could not even get pleasure from it. Toto released their debut album Toto in October 1978, selling two million copies based on their top ten hit Hold the Line. The subsequent two albums Hydra and Turn Back had little success, however Toto IV featured the primary hit Africa in addition to the top ten single Rosanna. After the band's formation, David Paich set about writing what grew to become the eponymousdebut album. Once written, the new band came together in the studio to cut its first demos. Having just recently watched The Wizard of Oz, Jeff Porcaro started to put in writing the word "toto" on the demo tapes in order that they'd be easily identifiable. When the time got here to choose a name for the band, the band explored the roots of the word "toto" extra thoroughly.
